Hailing from Ames, IA, I appreciate the Midwest and its values. As a native of a college town, I immersed myself in the vibrant culture of Iowa State, where engaging in sporting events and competition with my brother and peers became a way of life.

After graduating from Iowa State in 2010, I set out to find my niche in the professional world, and it wasn't long before I discovered my passion for operations. Since then, I've had the privilege of scaling operations for both Fortune 500 giants and scrappy startups alike, with a particular focus on major metropolitans such as New York City and Chicago. What draws me to operations is the clear parallels I see between it and sports - from strategic planning to efficient execution, the same skills and traits that lead to success on the field can be applied to business.
I believe that surrounding oneself with the right people and demonstrating loyalty are essential principles in life. I've been fortunate to have had some exceptional influences in my own life, and I aspire to pay it forward by being a positive influence for others as well.
I'm always looking to learn and grow. Recently, I completed a 12-week intensive Applied Data Science Course, where I learned the language of coding and the technical theories of what will drive the future of Machine Learning and AI. My most recent endeavors include learning Spanish and volunteering more.
When I'm not working, I find joy in spending quality time with my loved ones and friends, exploring new destinations through travel, relishing delicious cuisine, indulging in stand-up comedy, and actively contributing to my local communities through volunteering.
However, the role that holds the most significance and brings me immeasurable joy is being a father of two to my remarkable children.
As the current VP of Operations for Logistics at REEF Technology, I have successfully scaled and built national operations for the Micro Fulfillment and Logistics division, driving profitable growth and achieving outstanding results.
Prior to my role at REEF, I served as the Regional Operations Manager at MakeSpace (Now Clutter), where I led the development and execution of complex operational solutions for an on-demand consumer storage start-up. I received exceptional customer service ratings, increased Net Promoter Score, and successfully led the rollout of operations from 4 to 24 locations during a joint venture with Iron Mountain in just 3 months.
Before MakeSpace, I served as the Station Manager at Amazon.com (AMZL), where I was responsible for the site leadership of Amazon's largest final mile Delivery Station. I developed and implemented new processes and initiatives to drive increased utilization and efficiency. I also served as an Area Manager, leading the on-road execution and night sortation of packages for 150+ routes, and received recognition as the 2015 North American Delivery Station of the Year.
I started my career at JB Hunt as a Fleet Manager and quickly progressed to become an Area Service Manager within a year. In that role, I planned over 500 drivers a day and 400,000 annual shipments, and was recognized as the Area Service Manager of the Year. I ultimately took over my own operation in Pittsburgh, PA, independently overseeing a 24/7 operation and leading it to its highest ever profitability.
Throughout my career, I have thrived in fast-paced environments, constantly managing and optimizing operations. I strongly believe in adopting an ownership mindset in all that I do, which has drawn me towards startups. Reflecting on my career journey so far, I have gleaned invaluable lessons from each step along the way.
